Casa Angelica is a beautiful, recently renovated and extended in traditional and rustic style, old casa de campo in a splendid location, backing onto the Sierra Almijara National Park and looking out across the Mediterranean Sea towards the Riff Mountains of Morocco. Only a hour from Malaga airport and 1.5 hours from Granada airport; 7 minutes from Competa with its many bars and restaurants and 35 minutes from Nerja with its world famous caves, fine beaches, beach bars etc.

Access to the property is from the tarmac road via a paved drive to the (2) car port and parking area for several cars. The house has several terracotta tiled terraces around; these provide great views to the Mediterranean Sea to the south and the Almijara mountains to the east.

Entry to the house (renovated and extended in 2003) is through double wooden doors into the hall, with the fitted kitchen off to the left, complete with gas/electric Zanussi cooker, Bosch dishwasher and fridge/freezer.  Follow through the arch into the dining room which can comfortably seat ten, go to the left and through another arch into the large, high ceiling, sitting room which has a fireplace with a wood burner, a CD/tape/radio stereo system with a selection of CD’s and a growing library, big squashy settees and French windows onto the south facing terrace and over-looking the pool terrace. Also on the ground floor is the utility room complete with Zanussi washing machine and separate tumble dryer and one air conditioned bedroom with double bed and en-suite bathroom, with French windows to the south facing terrace.

The stairs lead off from the hall to the ‘U’ shaped first floor landing, to the front of the house is an air conditioned bedroom with double bed, there is a further air conditioned bedroom with two single beds and a family bathroom, and a fourth air conditioned bedroom with double bed and en-suite bathroom.

For those long hot days, and nights, there is the swimming pool (9m x 5m) with Roman steps leading to the shallow end which gradually deepens from 1m to 1.85m at the far end. The pool is overlooked by a delightful terracotta tiled terrace with both open terraces and some with cane shading, and a built-in barbecue. The pool terrace is entirely enclosed and has a boltable gate as the only access from the terrace; for peace of mind the pool is also 100% visible from the main terrace area.

However, Andalusia is not only for the hot summer months there is a charm quite different in the so called off season times. Relax in front of flickering flames and the dry stick crackle of a vine wood fire in the cool of a winter's evening after a day spent in the warm Spanish sun.

Spend time walking or riding through the Sierras; less than two hours away are the ski slopes of the Sierra Nevada and the splendours of Granada with the famed Moorish Alhambra palace. Shop till you drop for bargains in the pedestrian walkways of Malaga old town, visit the Picasso gallery or drive to the magical cities of Seville or Cordoba.
