Competa is a traditional Andalucian hill village while lies some 65km from Malaga and 18km from the coast. Finca Higuera, situated just outside the village, is a small white converted cottage with iron grills over the windows as is consistent with the local style, and is in fact part of a building consisting of two separate dwellings, each facing in opposite directions.

Finca Higuera has two bedrooms the larger, facing down into the valley, contains a double bed. The smaller bedroom contains a single bed plus the double seat in the lounge opens out into another double bed if required. Between the bedrooms is a dining alcove which opens onto a fairly spacious kitchen-cum-living room with a shower room and toilet adjoining.

Outside is a large partly shaded patio containing a barbecue unit plus a concreted area for private parking.

The finca is fully equipped with a full range of cutlery, plates, pots and pans plus a half gas, half electric cooker. As well as the furniture inside there is basic patio furniture - folding, reclining chairs etc. Should heating ever be required there are two electric fires and one moveable gas fire. The property has mains electricity and water from the village mains supply is heated for the kitchen and shower-room by replaceable gas cylinders.

There is a TV with a video machine connected to it (please note that there is no TV reception). You can either bring your own video cassettes or there is a gift shop, Marco Polo, off the main Plaza Almijara which has a selection of films for hire.

Fresh towels and bedlinen are provided and the house is always fully cleaned before guests arrive. Also, breakfast provisions are left in the fridge for your arrival.

Finca Higuera is half way down a valley about 3km, up and over a steep hill, from Competa. Due to this a car is essential. A local English couple look after the house so you can be assured that there will be somebody close at hand should you need anything.

Finca Higuera sleeps up to 4 people. The accommodation comprises:

Kitchen plus living room with gas/electric cooker, fridge/freezer.
Dining alcove wiith video, music unit (portable).
Small single bedroom.
Shower/bathroom with toilet.
Outside is a large patio with sunshade and barbecue unit.
