El Molino, Guaro, Periana

El Molino is a 200 year old mill house exquisitely restored in 2001 to a high standard as a home of four bedrooms and four bathrooms. With a large pool (11m x 5m) and numerous patios, it is an ideal base for a family holiday. Situated on the edge of the beautiful white-washed hamlet of Guaro, it will also suit those looking for a hiking holiday in rural Spain.

Only a mile and half away is the attractive town of Periana, an unspoilt Andalucian town whose small shops and facilities should meet most needs of holidaymakers, including bars and food shops, as well as a chemist and two dentists. To the south the coast can be reached in about 25 minutes, while Granada and the Sierra Nevada are about an hour to the north-east.

The house has a large entertaining area with a 75 foot lounge/dining area and a 'snug' on the ground floor, opening onto the main patio and barbecue (which can be totally cordoned off for those with small children). The fitted kitchen is well kitted and a separate utility room (and fifth bathroom) has a washing machine and tumble drier. The television in the main lounge has a large range of British satellite channels including the BBC, ITV and Channel 4. Three of the bedrooms have large en-suite bathrooms, with the master bedroom having an emperor size bed and a large circular bath. The fourth bedroom is on the second floor but has no door to it.

Being in the country, a holiday based at the Molino will bring an increasingly rare glimpse of traditional Spanish rural life. The goatherd of the neighbouring farm is taken out to pasture past the house daily, the field next door is filled with ancient olive trees and the night sky is filled with an array of stars we normally miss in the UK.

The Euro rate may vary according to exchange rates at the time of booking. Prices are per week, inclusive of electricity, bed linen and towels (please bring your own beach towels) for up to seven people. Changeover day is flexible. Arrival after 2pm, departure by 10am. A 40% non refundable deposit is payable on booking with the balance due four weeks before arrival.
