This cosy village house, Casa Triana, is situated in Competa, a traditional Andalucian village nestled in the Sierra de Almijara mountains, backing on to a the National Park. Find traditional Spanish bars, where you can hear flamenco late in the evenings and sample mouth watering local food. Superbly situated close to the main square, but down a pedestrian side street in a little plazoleta, where no cars go down. 

Casa Triana is a traditional village house set on 3 floors, conveniently located in a pedestrian-only street, near the shops and bars without being on a main road. A local artist created the beautiful mosaic Gaudi-style façade in April 2004. 

You enter Casa Triana into the lounge where there is a television and video, CD and tape machine, so don't forget your music. Videos can be rented from a local shop. There are 3 sofas (1 a sofa bed which can be screened off). Plenty of games and books in case the weather is playing up. A few steps lead up to the kitchen, which was completely renovated in 1999 in solid wood and granite. The dining room is next to the kitchen through an arch. Steps lead up to the two bedrooms (one double, one twin) and further steps lead up to the bathroom, utility area with washing machine and the roof terrace. From the roof terrace, there are spectacular views over the rooftops and the mountains.

Competa is a small village situated about 1 and a half hours east of Malaga airport, half an hour from the coast and backs on to the Sierra Almijara mountains at 650 m altitude. Narrow streets wind through the village, and some can be quite steep. There are however convenient supermarkets for shopping, less than 5 minutes from the house, as well as a local bakery, where you can pick up hot bread and croissants every morning. Bars and restaurants throughout Competa are welcoming and there is a sufficient variety not to get bored! Mind you, this is not the type of place where you will find English "pubs" and "Fish and Chips" shops so if you don’t want to experience a little of real Spain, this is not for you. The local swimming pool has lovely views over the mountains, with its own bar and restaurant. 

There are a multitude of sports and activities to participate in should you wish to. On the other hand, there are peaceful sleepy, villages to find, where you can sit in the main square under a tree, drink in one hand, and watch the world go by.

With its own language school, you could even take a short Spanish course. Lovely countryside and mountain walks direct from the village, with a horse riding school 5 kms away. There are two swimming pools, one in Competa and one in the next village, although the beach is only 30 mins away. For those with teenagers and young children, there is an Aquapark on the coast, with shutes and flumes.

Take it easy on our private covered roof terrace, which although small, has superb views. Enjoy a meal at the table or put down the sun beds for relaxing.

Casa Triana sleeps up to 6 people (plus a baby/toddler). The accommodation comprises:
